Wildhood
August 21, 2022 @ 20:00 – 22:00
This coming-of-age LGBTQIA+ drama from Wolfe Video takes place in a rural east-coast trailer park, where Link lives with his toxic, violent father and younger half-brother Travis.
Link thinks a lot about his identity and sexuality and experiments with other people. To make some money, he and Travis steal scrap metal. When Link discovers that his Mi’kmaw mother could possibly still be alive, he is unable to stop thinking about her and the completely different life he could have. He decides to flee from his father, in a very dramatic way, and takes his half-brother along on this adventure. Together they make a run for, hopefully, a better life.
On the road, they meet Pasmay, a pow wow dancer who’s drawn to Link. As the boys journey across Mi’kma’ki together, they learn a lot about each other and the area. Link starts discovering his identity and finds community and love in the land where he belongs.
