Kaboom * QFFU: Queer Animation Night

August 26, 2022 @ 19:15 21:30

A special evening of short films selected by Kaboom Animation Festival. Animation with a queer theme. Come watch and be surprised.

Before the film starts, there will be a panel discussion about the wonderful world of animation. We will talk about queer representation, the work process and what it is like for a young filmmaker to be able to use his or her queer identity to turn it into film. This program is a collaboration with the Kaboom Animation Festival that will take place in spring next year. Today’s program will be repeated at the festival then.

Adorable / dir. Cheng-Hsu Chung / 2018 / UK & TW / 6′

The journey of a queer person who explores their sexuality and experiences being part of the queer community for the first time.

Eating in the Dark / dir. Inari Sirola / 2021 / UK / 9′

Through snakey dildos, setting boundaries and a journey through a mind-bending forest, we follow Siro’s quest for self-discovery. A horny short about valuing yourself in life… and sex.

I [Insert Body Part] You / dir. Alex Goddard / 2014 / UK / 1′

I Heart You, I [insert body part] You! …When one body part just doesn’t say enough.

Klimax / dir. Bea Hoeller / 2021 / DE / 3′

Phew, is it getting hot in here? Exploring the inner world of female lust and pleasure, this student short reaches an orgasm, not by explicitness, but by associative images and sensual movement. We follow Barbie, who’s emerging like Alice in Wonderland into a magical world, a place of temptation and pure joy. Here, she gets rid of her stiffness and repression, ultimately reaching a climax.

Top 3 / dir. Sofie Edvardsson / 2019 / SE / 44′

In this funny, bittersweet romantic comedy from Sweden, perpetual list-maker Anton falls in love with David, but things start to go awry when Anton realizes that his dreams in life might be in direct opposition to David’s.

The Kaboom Animation Festival is the one-stop shop for the latest in animation. From cutting-edge experimental art-house films to colourful stories for families and children, Kaboom will satisfy everyone’s animation needs. Yes, including yours, my fantastic freaky friend!
