When a new boy joins Sem’s class his world is turned upside down. For the first time in his life he falls in love with someone of the same sex. Slowly a secret love blossoms between the two, but how long will this secret last? And how well does Sem manage to deal with his own feelings and thoughts? It is quiet under water, a solo performance about the search for your sexual orientation. About wrestling with yourself, being allowed to be who you are, but still pretending to be different. About peer pressure, wanting to belong and learning to accept yourself.

In her solo “Who are you when no one is looking?” theater maker Soula Notos tells poetic stories in a humorous and energetic way about what it is like to grow up with different labels. How do you deal with that without going crazy? And how can you think past the labels? It’s a universal story about finding your place under the sun. Who decides which group you belong to? What do you really know about another person? What stories do you live in at home, at school, at work? Who are you when no one is looking? The solo has been performed at festivals in London, Prague, Oslo, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Vilnius, and recently at Oerol. Soula Notos tells stories to connect, to change, to laugh.
