Death and Bowling
August 22, 2022 @ 21:00 – 22:15

In his feature film debut Lyle Kash explores what it means to be trans and to be seen. Death and Bowling is a meta film about the representation of trans people. It sheds a light on stereotypes and criticizes them. Apart from that it also is a deeply felt story about being yourself and mourning. Even though it touches upon heavy topics, there is a lot of warmth to be found in this intimate and honest indie drama.
In Death and Bowling two trans men meet each other on the funeral of the leader of a lesbian bowling team. A special bond develops between the two with this community being the lovely backdrop. The story is told in a pastel colour scheme and accompanied by a catchy soundtrack.
Next to the film underlining the importance of having the right representation, it luckily listens to its own advice. The cast consists of mainly trans actors and is in that respect quiet unique.
